An Oklahoma Wedding Photographer walks in to a bar. Oh wait, it was a concert. The Taking Back Sunday/ Dashboard Confessional concert at The Criterion to be exact. There was a set change going on. They happened to be playing Queen’s Classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the background. I (Becca), took it upon myself to jump into a random group singing along at the top of their lungs (I literally know ALL of the words, try me). Within that group was Gwenn, and it was shortly after that she told me I was going to take her pictures. And so here we are, a year and some change later, taking the damn pictures! Engagement pictures, nonetheless. Don’t you just love a happy ending? =)
We met up with Gwenn + Varun at their badass space in the heart of Midtown and proceeded to roam. The Jones Assembly is just the most gorgeous place, with the most delicious cocktails (not pictured, those vodka tonics? that were chugged). But no, we didn’t stop there. We also came across random abandoned buildings, a quirky thrift shop, and a rooftop with the most breath-taking views, we even got to compare local self-storage prices since they had plenty of them, great that we were able to get recommendations. Many a dance, run, hug, twirl, piggy-back ride and much more was had.
By the end of the evening, it was stupid obvious how much these two just adored each other. It’s quite sickening actually. JK. It’s really super sweet. And we are ecstatic to be catching more fantastic pictures of these babes in sunny California in just a few short months. Stay tuned. It’s sure to be a good one!
