It was quite the cold, windy day at the Grand Canadian Theater in Purcell, Oklahoma. But wedding photographers always have to be ready for anything, right? Especially Oklahoma wedding photographers, because the weather is as bi-polar as ever! Despite the cold, when we arrived, everyone was in good spirits, bustling about, getting ready for the big day. Champagne was had. Possibly vodka too. It really was a great morning.
Soon enough, it was time for Billy and Ashley to do their first look. As Billy waited, anxiously, Ashley made her way towards him. We might add, Ashley looked simply incredible in her wedding dress, we couldn’t wait for Billy to see! It was the sweetest moment, capturing these two seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. But not to worry, tears were still to be had soon after, as Billy saw Ashley make her way down the aisle. His soon to be wife. His best friend forever. His adventure of a lifetime.
The ceremony was short and sweet, officiated by Billy’s own brother in law, Jesse. They each shared their own handwritten vows, which we are pretty sure included Billy vowing to make handmade pickle art for Ashley, for as long as they both shall live. (This is real life guys, we’ve seen some of the pickle art!! LOL) And then they were married.
It seemed like in the blink of an eye, the place was soon transformed. From intimate ceremony, to stunning reception. Seriously, they did an amazing job! Everything came together quite lovely, as Billy and Ashley were introduced and the party was officially started. They shared a beautiful first dance, collected some dolla bills with the money dance, shed some tears during some moving speeches, had a mini cake fight, tossed the bouquet, pulled a handful of blush-worthy dance moves for the garter, and really just enjoyed this amazing night with all of their loved ones.
We’ve known Billy and Ashley for some time now, and it was truly an honor to be able to capture it all, whilst celebrating with them. They truly are meant to be, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness!! Now for babies!! JK. They can have time to enjoy their marriage first. =)
